How to get around in Japan with Ski/Snowboard Gear

If you’re traveling to Japan for your ski holiday and have some extra days in between your ski destination and site seeing around Japan, I recommend using one of Japan’s delivery service to transport your ski gear, luggage, or whatever else you don’t want carry around.  Of course if you’re with a tour group than you don’t need to worry.

When you arrive at the airport, look for the following logo or ask an information desk where the Yamato Transport is or “kuroneko” which means black cat in Japanese.

YAMATO TRANSPORT CO., LTD.

You can also read about more information on their website http://www.kuronekoyamato.co.jp/en/

Once you get to the Yamato desk you should be able to send you ski gear to your destination and enjoy some sightseeing first without having to carry around your ski gear.  When you’re ready to leave your ski destination, you can also use Yamato transport from your hotel to send your luggage direct to the airport and pick up your luggage when you arrive at the airport.  Of course you will need to check the time of delivery as it is dependent on the distance and time of your actual arrival/departure and destination.
