Hakuba Norikura

Introduction

Hakuba Norikura is a small sized resort made up of 14 courses. Combined with the neighboring Hakuba Cortina, it makes it a medium sized resort for a total of 30 courses.

Accommodations

There are few pensions and ryokans in the area and two main hotels at each mountain base. The Hakuba Alps Hotel is at the Norikura base and the Green Hotel sits at the Cortina base. I visited this area once and stayed at the Hakuba Alps Hotel.

The Alps Hotel is a nice hotel with descent sized rooms and nice onsen facilities.

Ski Area

Although the combined resort is considered medium size, there is not a lot of vertical and feels more wide than it is tall which makes the resort feel smaller than it is since there are not a lot of long runs.
