There are many ski resorts in Hokkaido with the large major resorts being Kiroro, Rusutsu, Niseko and Furano.  I haven’t been to Niseko but I plan to go this year.  Out of the other three resorts, my #1 pick would be Kiroro Resort for the following reasons.

  1. Excellent powder snow and lots of it.  Kiroro Resort tends to open earlier and tends to snow more than the neighboring resorts.
  2. Good facilities.
  3. Family friendly.
  4. Price is reasonable.
  5. No crowds.
